Refund & Return Policy
Hishab is a hotel discovery and technology platform, so this policy distinguishes between two different kinds of payment.
- Hotel room booking payments — paid by guests directly to a hotel, through that hotel's own website.
- Booktel service payments — paid directly to Hishab by hotel owners, for subscriptions, website services, or add-ons.
Each has a different cancellation and refund process, explained below.
Hotel Booking Cancellations
Hishab does not process hotel booking cancellations. If you need to cancel or change a stay, contact the hotel directly using the details on its website or in your booking confirmation — the cancellation terms shown by that hotel at the time of booking will apply.
Hotel Booking Refunds
Because hotel room payments are collected by the hotel (or its own payment processor) and not by Hishab, any refund for a hotel booking is issued by that hotel/payment provider, according to the hotel's own policy and applicable law. Hishab cannot independently refund an amount it did not collect.
Booktel Subscription Cancellation & Refund
Hotel owners on an annual Hishab subscription may request cancellation by contacting Support. Because a subscription involves account setup, website provisioning, and service activation, refund eligibility depends on how much of the service has already been delivered at the time of the request — any non-refundable condition is disclosed to the hotel owner before purchase. Where applicable law requires a refund or other remedy, we will comply with it.
Duplicate or Incorrect Booktel Payments
If you are charged more than once for the same Booktel service payment due to a verified technical or payment error, contact us with your name, registered mobile/email, transaction ID, payment date, amount, and any supporting evidence. Verified duplicate or excess payments are refunded through the original payment method within 7 business days of approval.
Failed Payments
A payment may occasionally appear as debited even when we do not receive a successful confirmation. Such holds are typically reversed automatically by your bank or payment provider within their standard timelines; if it is not reversed, contact us or your bank with the transaction reference.
Refund Processing Time
Where a refund is approved for a payment collected by Hishab, it is initiated within 7 business days of approval. Depending on your bank, card issuer, or UPI provider, it may take a few additional business days to reflect in your account.
Custom Development Work
For custom development engagements, we agree the scope, price, payment milestones, delivery expectations, and cancellation terms with the hotel owner before work begins. Once agreed work has commenced, amounts attributable to work already performed may be non-refundable, to the extent permitted by law and the agreed project terms.
Grievance Redressal
If you are not satisfied with the resolution of a refund request relating to a Booktel service payment, you may escalate it to our Grievance Officer, who will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
